In The Name of Self Defense

There has been a string of robberies in our city recently.
In broad daylight.
Being here with two kids during the day, I wanted to make sure we were safe.

We are already the owners of this monster...
But honestly, it's a little on the large side.
Don't get me wrong, I know how to use it.
And, I can hit where I am aiming.
It just isn't comfortable.
A couple of years ago, I picked out this.
It has extra, built in safety features that I adore.
See that button on the back of the grip?
It's a safety.
There is another one on the trigger.
You have to squeeze both of them before it can be fired.
Plus, it still has a regular safety.
To top it off, it holds a whopping 19 bullets.
19!
When we started looking at guns, the guy behind the counter was set on selling me a six shooter.
He looked a little shocked when I asked if I could see something with more rounds.
"Do you really need more than six?"
I looked up, smiled, and said, "I just might."
He sent me on to another associate.

Yesterday, I finally got to shoot.
It was my first time shooting a handgun.
I fell in love.
See those holes in the head and left chest?
Those are my shots.
The bullseye is Adam's.
Not bad, huh?

The best I could do would be to try to throw one at somebody!

We've got both in our house too. People need to watch out when mothers have guns...and know how to use them!
