Frog Legs, Anyone?

A few years ago on a trip, Adam brought up a lesson he had heard in his youth group.
I had completely forgotten about this until last night when Adam used the same example.
For some reason, the youth director asked them how to boil a frog.
You cannot throw a frog into a pot of boiling water, it will only jump out.
You must put the frog in while it is cool and slowly increase the heat.
This way the frog will not recognize something is out of order.
I remember looking at him like he had lost his mind and asked,
"Why don't you just put a lid on the pot?"

Pumpkin Pals

Since the kids aren't old enough to carve pumpkins, we usually paint them.
It is fun, but makes the pumpkins inedible.
Since I have pies on backorder, I opted for this!

Funky Fruit/Nut

Adam picked this up at the pumpkin patch yesterday.
It fell out of a tree while we were getting out of the car.
We have no idea what it is.
I did a google image search and found a few things that are similar, but nothing close enough to be definitive.
It is about the size of a grapefruit and has a familiar smell, although I can't place it.
I keep waiting for it to bust open and some alien species to invade my house.
Does anyone know what it is??

Pumpkin Patch Past and Present!

Getting ready to leave the house
With a 50/50 shot, he gets it right about 3% of the time :)
Waiting on lunch!
Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
Playing in the MASSIVE sand box!
He picked up all the trucks and put them around him.
I guess it was a good thing he was the only kid in the sand box
until Adam got in, of course...

Can you see how exctied Caleb was to get to sit beside Mommy?
At least he wasn't a whole lot happier with Daddy

We searched the patch for the best pumpkin pie pumpkins.
Adam found one!

(his mouth was pink in person)
Going through the corn maze, Caleb insisted on pulling Georgia Kate in the wagon
Such a good big brother
We also crammed Boo at the Zoo in yesterday!
Because it was so chilly we put them in warm costumes.
Caleb wore his skunk from last year and Georgia Kate wore Caleb's old monkey costume

The black and white animals seem to be drawn to Caleb.
The zebra came right up to the gate and so did the penquins :)
