The Good And Bad Of It All...

I will start with the bad news. Mom had a doctors appointment today. We thought since he didn't ask her to come in yesterday, he would just put her in a boot and send her on her way... We were wrong. It turns out she has a second degree sprain in her left ankle and a broken fibula on the right side. They could just put her in a cast and hope for the best, but it usually ends up re-breaking itself or healing wrong. Instead, they suggested surgery. She will have a teeny, tiny plate and 6 pins put in first thing Friday morning. They put her in a sock like brace for the sprain. She will then be put in a boot/brace for somewhere between six weeks and three months.
On a MUCH, MUCH lighter note, Michael Buble is coming to Knoxville! Adam and I have been to Nashville to see him and he really puts on a fantastic show. Best of all, it falls right around our wedding anniversary!
(Yes, Adam that is a big hint!)

127 Sale!

This was not my fist time to the sale. I went 3 years ago by myself. It was a lot of fun, but this year was so much better. Dad and Georgia Kate went with me and we had a blast!

I was in search of a trunk to use as a toy box. I didn't want anything that would be ruined should a sippy cup full of milk happen to find it's way to the bottom and not be found for a long period of time. I wanted something that could be climbed on without the slightest hint of buckling. I wanted something with character. And most importantly, I wanted something cheap! This is what I found!

Not bad for $45, huh?

We also bought a HUGE watermelon

Several bags of Pork Rinds :) Yummy!

Georgia Kate really likes them!

I got Adam The Best Of Rap tape and a Huey Lewis And The News tape for his truck!

And this baby toy. I have never seen one like this... The little bear on top dances around and sings. Caleb loves it!

When we got home, Mom called. She fell down the stairs and broke her right ankle and sprained her left ankle. She also bumped her head pretty hard but her CT scan came back negative. She is doing fine now, and Percocet is her friend.

Dad will be out of town for most of the week and Bryant starts back to school tomorrow so Mom will be spending a lot of time at my house the next couple of weeks. Hopefully, the break is clean enough this time that it doesn't require any surgery.

Photo Finish Friday!

Yesterday, we went to West Town Mall play area with Amanda and Avery. The kids had a great time but I left my camera at home. Amanda took some pictures and as soon as I get those, I will post them.

Today, Nanny and Papaw (my maternal grandparents) came over for a visit. The kids had such a great time and I don't think Nanny and Papaw had a bad time either! I am so incredibly happy to report that they both had check-ups today and are both Cancer Free!

Since I have started blogging, I have noticed quite a theme with my pictures... I take a lot of "fashion" photos. I am going to start what I call "Fashion Flub Friday". I will post my favorite fashion mistakes from the previous week. Here are some of my past favorites...

Caleb's Best Posh Spice Impression:

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle:Is there ever an inappropriate time for a Sombrero? He used to love to wear this headband... Today, he wore a pair of khaki shorts, the latest in Blue's Clues fashion topped off by this stunning silver and white lamp shade hat... Who wouldn't pay a fortune for this outfit?

Sweet Dreams

After I finished feeding Georgia Kate last night, I left her in her chair to enjoy some Cheerios. When I turned back around, she was asleep. I knew she was tired but I had no idea she was this tired!

I was even able to recline the seat without her waking up :)

This Blog Brought To You By The Letter "J"

I have a dilemma.

Anderson County Visions Magazine is holding an amateur photo contest. As soon as I saw the entry form I cut it out. It has been hanging on our refrigerator for three months now. It has been haunting me.

I have the options of entering a picture into three catagories. They are:
  • It starts with the letter "J"- Take a picture of anything that starts with the letter "J"
  • My Visions Magazine- Take a picture of your copy of Visions Magazine, current or past issue. The only rule here is, well you guessed it, Visions magazine has to appear in the picture somewhere. Have fun with this one.
  • One Man's Junk is another Man's Treasure- We are looking for a shot of those items that are long over due for either the junk pile or the yard sale, but you just can't bare to let them go.

I really have no interest in the Visions Magazine one. That just isn't my thing. One Man's Junk will be pretty easy to pick up this weekend at the 127 sale. But the "J" one has been pulling me in for weeks. It is the reason I cut out the form.

I spent three months putting it off. Then, time ran out. I was getting ready to take the form down the day August's magazine came. They extended the deadline. Something is telling me to enter. The worst thing they could do is tell me they didn't choose mine.

You wouldn't think it would be so extraordinarily hard to find something that starts with a "J". All I can think of is Jars. I do not want to submit a picture of jars. How many pictures of jars have you seen in your lifetime??? I have seen more than I care to count.

So, if anyone has any "J" ideas, please let me know! I have been meaning to mention that you can posts messages without having a Blogger account. Please, do leave messages!
